By renting equipment from Allen's Camera, the Renter agrees to be bound by all terms and conditions listed in this document:

Rental Equipment Terms & Conditions

1. Equipment Condition and Proper Use The Renter is responsible for the proper and safe operation of all rented equipment. Upon pickup, the Renter assumes responsibility for returning all equipment in the same condition it was received. Allen’s Camera is not liable for, and will not issue refunds for, any loss of data or usability resulting from operator error.

2. Renter's Liability for Loss & Damage The Renter assumes full liability for any loss, damage, or theft of the equipment during the rental period. Allen’s Camera does not insure rental equipment on the Renter's behalf; it is the Renter's sole responsibility to secure their own insurance coverage. Any missing components (such as lens caps, hoods, cases, etc.) will be billed to the Renter at their full retail price. These charges are final.

3. Returns and Late Fees Renters will return the equipment by or on the agreed upon date and time as listed on their contract. Renters may cancel their reservation at any time before pickup without a cancellation fee. There is no grace period for late returns. Equipment returned after the agreed-upon date and time will be subject to additional fees. If the equipment was not reserved by another customer, the fee will be the difference between the price paid and the new, longer rental duration. However, if the equipment's late return conflicts with a pre-existing reservation, additional penalties may apply.

4. Limitation of Liability In the case of an equipment malfunction not caused by the Renter, the liability of Allen’s Camera is strictly limited to the rental fee paid for the malfunctioning item.

5. Credit Card Authorization Hold and Insurance A Credit Card Authorization Hold is required for all rentals. The standard hold amount is 50% of the current retail value of the rented equipment. However, Allen's Camera reserves the right to evaluate each rental individually and may require a hold of up to 100% of the retail value at its sole discretion.

The Authorization Hold will be released by Allen's Camera the same day as the satisfactory return and inspection of the rental equipment. Please note that while the hold is released by us, it may take your financial institution 3-5 business days to make the funds available. In some cases, this process can take up to 30 days. The Renter understands this timeline is dictated by their card issuer and not by Allen's Camera. For this hold, we accept only major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Debit cards are not accepted for authorization holds.

A Certificate of Insurance (COI) may be accepted in lieu of a credit card authorization hold, subject to approval by Allen's Camera management. The COI must name Allen's Camera as 'Additionally Insured' and 'Loss Payee' and must be sent directly to us from the renter's insurance broker. The policy must cover the full replacement value of the rented equipment and list the correct rental dates.
